HIMALAYAN SINGING BOWLS
Tibetan singing bowls have been around for thousands of years. They are found mainly in the Himalayan regions but also include Nepal, India, Japan, Korea, China and Mongolia. They are sometimes called standing or upside down bells. The reason why they are called singing bowls is they produce unique vibrating sounds as they are struck or rubbed along the rim.

Traditional Tibetan bowls are said to be made out of 7 different metals and are hand hammered into shape while monks chant healing mantras into them, encasing their intentions into each bowl, making them a sacred instrument of love & sound healing.

Our collection of singing bowls has been curated from around the world creating a powerful and distinctive sound symphony. The collection holds over 40+ handmade and antique bowls, ranging from 4" to 30" in diameter. Every singing bowl was chosen because of itʻs deep resonance felt the first time it was struck. The sounds you will experience in your session are unique only to Himalayan Healing Sounds because no two bowl collections are alike. Just like you can tell a lot about a painter from their color palette you can tell a lot about a sound practitioner from their sound bowl collection.
Our singing bowls were chosen for their ability to produce perfect tones, their distinct vibrational properties and the length of time they emit sound. The power of a sound bowl can be felt beyond the ears and skin penetrating deep into your body, brain and energy centers.
The sound bowls are played intuitively and incorporate approaches and protocols I've learned over the years from other teachers such as Suren Shrestha at Atma Buti®, and Diáne Mandle, blending their teachings with my own knowledge and years of hands on experience.
Many people ask if I work with crystal bowls and I do not. I have chosen to stay with the traditional Himalayan metal singing bowls because I prefer the effect they have on the mind, body and Spirit. Metal bowls are very different from crystal singing bowls because each material brings out a distinctive sound spectrum. Metal singing bowls is a personal preference so I encourage you to try both ( metal vs. crystal) so you can feel the difference for yourself.
OUR BOWL COLLECTION

BOWL BASICS
Choosing a sound bowl can be overwhelming. The first question you will need to ask is, do you want a metal or crystal bowl? I would recommend going onto YouTube and listening to the difference between the two materials. In our opinion, metal bowls tend to ground people down energetically while crystal bowls take people upwards.
Once you have figured out which material you prefer then itʻs finding a retailer who sells bowls. Please see my retail recommendations below. Most metaphysical stores will have a few bowls but if you want a large selection then try online retailers. To start, try listening and holding the bowl you are planning to purchase. We only recommend hand made and hand hammered bowls and prefer older antique bowls. The newer, prettier and colorful bowls are machine made (no hammer marks) and we find the sound they produce tend to be higher pitched and donʻt hold vibrations very long. The newer hand hammered bowls can be a good choice in terms of sound but tend to be very heavy. We do not recommend buying a bowl based on how pretty it looks, what chakra itʻs associated with or how cheap it is. What is important is to focus on the sound it produces when struck with a felt mallet and the sound it sings when rubbed with the suede playing stick. You will know immediately when a sound bowl resonates with you because your face will light up when the sound hits you. How does it make you feel when you close your eyes and strike it? Where do you feel the sound in your body? Does it bring you a sense of peace or joy? Trust your heart and not your eyes.
WHERE TO BUY
Many people ask us where they can purchase a singing bowl and that is a very hard question to answer because choosing a bowl is a very personal choice. A bowl should immediately resonate with you and easily entrain to your energy, body and vibrational frequency. Think of it as a partnership, you hold the bowl and direct it's sound to the recipient so it must seamlessly vibrate with you. With the recent influx of new bowl manufactures producing bowls via retailers like Amazon, we prefer handmade and antique bowls.
The following retailers specialize in antique or hand hammered bowls and we've had personal experience purchasing their singing bowls and highly recommend them.
My favorite retailer due to the seller, the quality and the size of his antique bowl collection ( which is probably the largest collection out there ) is Ryan at Best Singing Bowls. His website allows you to hear and compare multiple bowls at the same time. His expertise, years of experience traveling to the Himalayan regions, playing bowls and selling them is why he comes highly recommended. His is very passionate and understands the bowls intimately and intricately. He also manufactures amazing mallets. My favorite is his low tone mallet for larger bowls that does a wonderful job bringing out the lower tones with just the slightest touch. As you become more familiar with your bowl you will realize the importance of mallets and their part in bringing out all the sounds your bowl can produce. All of his bowls are true antiques reflecting the quality of the sound bowl you will receive.
If you prefer newer hand hammered bowls, crystal bowls, sound healing instruments and accessories then I would recommend Serenity Tibet . Their newer hand hammered bowls can produce some beautiful sounds. They do have a wide selection and if you are in Colorado I would recommend going to their warehouse. Suren, the owner is from Nepal and travels there quite frequently to procure the bowls he has for sale.
I'm very passionate about Himalayan singing bowls so please reach out with any questions you might have at himalayanhealingsounds@gmail.com.
